CMTS-05 Case Management

Case management requires a unique set of skills needed to provide quality care. There is a definite difference between counseling, therapy and case management competencies. Competencies that are required for effective case management relate to being skilled at intake, administrative requirements, admission, referrals, engagement, orientation, monitoring treatment and recovery plans and aftercare. In addition, reporting and record keeping is essential for the case manager to be able to provide objective and clear communication to the team they are working with.
