CMTS-01-P Overview of Substance Abuse (Payment Plan)

This 45 hour-eight-week course will examine and instruct on Substance Abuse Disorders (SUD). It will include the history, stereotypes and beliefs about substance abuse disorders. It will cover human development, theories and personality traits and how that knowledge relates to services and strategies in the SUD field. Weekly classes will focus on different topics such as family dynamics, treatment and recovery approaches. It will also include information about planning programs and providing client education. A major portion of this class is to examine the patterns and progression of substance use, abuse and dependence.
